Kay's comments: Super interesting AU set in The Untamed canon where Wei Wuxian didn't come back after thirteen years and instead, Lan Wangji needed to shoulder his grief for much longer. I also really enjoyed the second chapter which introduced an original sect that has the mission to preserve knowledge accurately. Excerpt: He wakes up one day tired, too tired for a man of his cultivation. He meets his uncle and brother and says, “I will now enter seclusion.” It's not a sudden decision, he's thought about it for years. The momentary confusion on both Lan Qiren and Lan Xichen’s faces is replaced with acceptance and shock respectively. “Again? How long will you be gone?” His brother asks, Lan Wangji does not respond, Lan Xichen waits a bit longer before asking again, “Until he comes back?” To that Lan Xichen is given a bowed head, they all know the he in reference. Lan Qiren uncharacteristically does not comment at all, he stands, touches Lan Wangji’s shoulder, and leaves the two brothers. He has accepted that his dear nephew’s heart has been taken by the Patriarch.

He loves the advice videos from the YouTuber named Newly Single Dad. The fact that the man is gorgeous and has a voice that sounds like it should read adult audio books has nothing to do with it… Castiel doesn’t mind raising his adopted nephew and niece. He does mind that their old house is falling apart on them. Luckily the videos of YouTuber JustGoodHands help him out immensely. Plus the guy is quite a sight for sore eyes, with his freckles and green eyes. But he knows they shall probably never meet. Then one day he gets a text from the father of Claire’s best friend Emma…

Okay, raise your hand if you’re a sucker for Dadstiel like I am. If your hand is up, did you know that there’s a writing bang just for Dadstiel fics? Credit goes to our fandom for having a bang for just about anything, and to all the writers who continue to give us stories, even years after the show has ended. Add to it the endless bounds of creativity and new scenarios to put our two favorites in and you've got yourself into one lucky Fandom. 

Add this sweet story to the spoils. In it, we meet versions of Dean and Cas who both like to post videos on YouTube; Dean as a helpful handyman, and Cas as a newly single dad after he becomes the only parent to his niece and nephew. They are fans of each other, with a pair of wicked crushes to go along with everything else, so imagine both their surprise when they figure out that they're daughters are actually best friends. 

This story is adorable. Soft dad's Dean and Cas are irresistible, and I'm always a big fan of any story that includes Emma when Dean is a single dad. This story gives us a few POVs, including a scene or two from the kids, which is always fun. Added in is a little drama toward the end to bring the men together, but all’s well that ends well, at least in this cute fic, which is all most of us want out of our fan fiction at the end of the day.

Steve is shocked when he actually pulls off getting Dustin the tickets, but he's even more surprised at the show when he realizes the band they're there to see is filled with familiar faces. And one face in particular that he's more than a little excited to see again.

How did Bradshaw just say this stuff casually, like he wasn’t talking about a Navy legend? But he pulled himself together and answered him. “Belle’s staying with me for her spring break, and I got some leave approved. I was planning on helping her deliver cookies on one of my days off. I’ll shoot you a text with possible dates.” “I’ll share that with Ice.” Bradshaw smiled warmly at him. “We’re all looking forward to meeting her, Jake.”

First looking up into Bradley’s tamed down curls, then admiring his arms, then down to his waist and back up again. “Get into trouble with you?” Jake says, quiet between them. If Bradley didn’t know any better, he would say that Jake was batting his lashes at him. He really, really hopes he doesn’t know any better. Or: Jake and Bradley are asked to demo the Uranium Mission to the newest batch of Topgun pilots.

Comment: This was such a cute fic, I loved reading this wonderful raising Harry AU, and I don't think I've ever read a wolfstar fic from Harry's POV before but it was very cute and hilarious and fluffy, highly recommend!!

I started a new fic! It follows Obi Wan and Anakin shortly after the death of Qui-Gon Jinn. How they both struggle with recent events and their new dynamic. It’s a slice of life fix it that explores Jedi culture and community. They both get friends because I said so.

One of my earliest reads from destiel fandom and the one that got me obsessed with single parent castiel.

I love the relationship between Cas and Claire and the gradual buildup is so interesting and satisfying.

I also really like how the author characterizes Claire here, she’s angsty, defensive and full of rage but at the same time she’s still a 16 year old girl who just wants someone to be there for her.

There isn’t much destiel because the story mostly follows cas and claire’s adventures but it’s a constant underlying presence.

Definitely worth a reread.
